WINSHAM COMMUNITY NEWS

A new approach to distributing news of parish events and items
of interest to residents of Winsham

In future, a replacement for the Winsham E-Letter, will appear as part of the Winsham Parish Web Site, named Winsham Community News.

A considerable benefit from this is that the tabulated area will carry the latest news of events and their location more quickly than was possible using the Winsham E-Letter approach which had served the parish for some twenty years, with over seven hundred editions. It will also be possible to view more easily via smart phone, and other devices.

You will be able to see information more quickly about what is going on in the parish, and any changes that may arise. It is hoped that it will also make it easier for the organisers of small events to communicate with their interest groups.

If some parish news does not lend itself to presentation in tabulated form, or as a direct announcement, it will usually be covered in a short comment at the foot of the tabulated area.

Enjoy,
John Sullivan

Spring

The quiet fields awake in trembling light, Soft mist unravels where the hedgerows dream; A blackbird lifts the morning on its flight, And stirs the dew to sparkle in the gleam.
Along the lanes the primrose finds her voice, A shy, pale lantern in the greening shade; The lambs in sudden leaps of reckless choice Turn every patch of meadow into play.
The orchards breathe a promise on the air, Their blossom drifting like a whispered vow; The world grows young again, divinely fair, As life breaks gently from the furrowed brow.
So Spring steps in with calm, unhurried grace, And hope walks softly in her shining trace.

Editor:
Hi all,
Sorry to be the bearer of the news of the demise of the Winsham E-Letter, but since the end of the direct mailing to its three hundred or so subscribers, the web site analysis figures indicate that it was not doing its job, so after seven hundred and seventy three editions, over nearly twenty years, it was time for a change. I hope the readers of the new Winsham Community News informative and easy to use.
