FESTIVAL NEWSLETTER No 4 -14th September 2026 Keeping our readers up-to-date with news of the Winsham Festival of Arts and Leisure during the  run-up period and during the event. September 26-October 10th 2026 St.Stephen's joins the festival, with a six day event.... St. Stephen's , our Anglican parish church have entered our Winfest festival with incredible and unusual event. They are inviting everyone to take part in the celebration of the 500 year anniversary of the publication of the first translation of the New Testament in 1526 by William Tyndall. A team of readers will undertake the daunting task, each reading for about fifteen minutes; they expect it to take six three hour sessions, but they are not entirely sure how long it will take. A bit like a Test Match! So just drop in, and spend as long as you like listening to the readings, and enjoying the peace and serenity of our lovely church. Six Winfest events are devoted to Dance There is a wide choice of events in the Winfest festival programme. The Tea and Dancing event  planned by the Chard Inner Wheel, will be fun devoted to fun and no doubt nostalgia. Come and enjoy the St. Stephen's Harvest Supper Celebration! The celebration of the harvest safely in has been a theme for hundreds of years in many rural communities. St. Stephen's had continued this tradition, and this years will be held on the last day of Winfest -10th October, in the Jubilee Hall at 6 pm. Admission is free, but limited to 50, so if you wish to attend please call in at Winsham Shop and put your name on the list, and make your selection from the menu available. There will be a raffle!
